First edition, first issue (letter “A” with publisher’s seal on copyright page). Unclipped dust-jacket with the portrait of Hemingway printed in blue on rear panel (price crossed-out in pencil), no mention of Nobel Prize. 8vo. Jacket with separations with chipping at folds, scattered scrapes to rear jacket panel; light yellow spotting to covers and top edge, spotting and light soiling to endpapers; moderate lean. Sold with Across the River and Into the Woods (New York, 1950, first edition), without jacket.
