Full period calf, morocco spine label titled in gilt, compartments with double gilt filets (corners worn, front hinge weak, front endpapers wormed; also affecting corner of title page and few sequential leaves and with small worm hole affecting lower margin of signatures A4-C, browning throughout, dampstaining at rear). Provenance: original ownership signature to title of John Wooddell (“his book”) and also written twice to rear endpaper. SCARCE. Not located in Sabin. Howes C421. A commentary on the War of 1812, with majority of the text having been written while the war was in progress and with particular interest in connection with Andrew Jackson’s 1814 campaign against the Creeks.
