DUNNINGER, Joseph. Abstract Street Scene. [New Jersey], 1954. Watercolor and marker on paper, depicting a modernistic street scene replete with cars, brightly-colored buildings, and a monument in the foreground. Gilt frame, 20 ¼ x 24”. Visible wear and chips; not examined out of frame. Inscribed and signed by Dunninger in the lower right (partially obscured by the mat). Dunninger spent considerable time painting and drawing in his later years, but seldom showed his work; he did, on occasion, gift his work to close friends.
