Six Vitaphone Film Soundtrack Records with Original Shipping Box. Circa 1920s. Group includes early and large (16” diam.) 33 1/3 rpm theatre soundtrack records that played to accompany the film. Records include Tarzan the Tiger Ep. 15, pt. 1 and part 2 (Universal Pictures/Victor Talking Machine, 1925); When Flowers Bloom (Castle Films/Columbia Pictures); Western Sun (Castle Films/Columbia Phonograph Co.); Land O’Lee (Castle Films/Clark Phonograph Record Co.); and Flinging Feet (Castle Films/Columbia Phonograph Co.). Cardboard shipping box is stamped with original address “A.C. Brothers Attraction/From/Columbia Phono. Co./Hollywood, Calif” and has other worn studio address labels attached. Box has overall soiling and rubbed edges, minor surface wear to records; few chips. Columbia Phonograph Company later became known as Columbia Records, the oldest surviving brand name in the recorded sound business and the second major company to produce records.
