Title and provenance stamp on verso.Fowlkes, an Atlanta artist who kept her paintings private, became spellbound by Lee in the late 1970s and painted over 250 portraits, sometimes mixing paint with her own blood. In her diaries, she referred to Lee as the “Enigma."
