Human Head on Turtle Body Sculpture. Japan, twentieth century. Polychrome figure, carved in heavy hardwood, gilt, painted and decorated with sequins, the head, extending out from the shell, depicting an Asian man. 19 x 9 ½ x 8 ½”. Few sequins lost, tail chipped.
