Abstracted, patterned image of African elephants among their native terrain with a jet flying overhead. This is the rare, original design for this poster as issued in 1946. The artist had drawn the elephants using a photograph of Asian elephants, which have smaller ears than African elephants. The design was reissued in 1948 with a corrected image featuring the larger ears of African elephants. 39 ½ x 24 ¾”. Linen backed. Tears throughout, expertly repaired, significant browning on bottom edge. B/B-.
