Compiled in the 1940s by a Midwestern magic collector, and including TLSs and ALSs, throw-out cards, brochures, magazine and newspaper clippings, stage money, clipped letterheads, and other miscellaneous ephemera. Highlights include three ALSs and several signed Christmas sentiments from Henry Ridgley Evans, including original mailing covers; a later generation portrait of Karl Germain, plus images of Germain drawn from various publications; throw-out cards and signed portraits of John Grdina; Al Munroe illustrated Christmas Cards; signed 8 x 10” portraits of various magicians (George Heller, Watler Gydesen, and many more); candid photographs of John Mulholland; spook show memorabilia; a Silent Mora window card (trimmed); Maskelyne clippings and playbills (J.N. and Jasper); unused letterhead for the Doc Irving Houdini show; Chautauqua and Lyceum brochures for John W. Frye and Walter Floyd; contemporary and vintage clippings related to Harry Kellar; items documenting the careers of Kalanag, Keating, Ray Muse, the Herrmanns (including three later 8 x 10” photographs), Burling “Volta” Hull, and many more. Most items mounted to pages, many three-hole punched. Approximately 200 items (clippings not collated or counted), most dating to the 1940s or earlier. A large and impressive assortment of mid-century magic memorabilia.
