Germain, Karl (Charles Mattmuller). Germain’s Wrist Trap. New York: Martinka & Co., ca. 1900. Bench-made mechanical trap door device facilitates the vanish of small objects. Spring loaded, with locking mechanism. 8 x 6”. Worn and oxidized, but good working condition. Sold by Germain’s biographer and friend Stuart Cramer on a list titled “Rare…Tricks that Belonged to Karl Germain,” published ca. 1966. Cramer offered Germain’s Clock Dial, Dr. Faust Padlock, and other props on the same list. A copy is included with this lot.
