Eli’s Die Box/Flap Die Box. Los Angeles: F.G. Thayer, ca. 1930. Round mahogany box with lid. The numbers on two dice inside are controlled by the magician even when the box is shaken. 2 ¾” diameter. Near fine. With a close-fitting flap for the lower portion of the box, with an unusual handle on the rounded lid. The only known example with these features. Possibly a prototype or a custom-ordered item, most likely turned by Floyd Thayer himself, as the quality of the workmanship is extremely fine. Previously owned by The Great Virgil.
