Mary Pickford Family Home Brick with Provenance. Hollywood: Los Angeles Pressed Brick Company, ca. 1915. A clay pressed brick that was once part of Mary Pickford’s family home that was built when they moved to Hollywood from New York in 1915. Included is a TLS dated October 17, 1972 to Dan Waldren from the head of the animation department at Cascades Rehearsal Studios, Phil Kellison, describing how Kellison obtained these bricks “.this brick came from the home of Mary Pickford, here in Hollywood, and was obtained by me when a friend of mine demolished the old mansion for the timbers in it. The brick was part of the main chimney, and I used many of these bricks in enlarging one of our patios.” Housed in original mailer with “Cascade/California” label. 8 x 4 x 2 ½”.
