A gelatin silver portrait photograph of Monk playing the piano at the historic Minton’s Playhouse in New York. Signed and titled on matting by artist in pencil; signed by artist in blue fineliner to lower portion of photograph. Professionally framed and matted, sight 19 x 15”. Fine. One of the most iconic and sought-after jazz photographs of Monk. Only other known example is in the Library of Congress.
