[Jarrett, Guy] Who’s Who, What’s What and Where’s Where in New York for Magicians. [New York: Stage Magic Co., ca. 1930]. Four-page guide on stiff card issued by Burling Hull and enumerating the locations of magic shops and supply houses, magic collections (Mulholland and Bridges), and other points of interest to magicians visiting New York, with a focus on Hull’s Stage Magic Co. The final paragraph of the final page details the abilities of one “Guy Garrett [sic]”, the “master illusion builder,” stating that he is “the only man who can plan, design, build, and stage a complete two and one-half hour show as elaborate as that of Thurston or Houdini, equipped ENTIRELY WITH ILLLUSIONS OF HIS EXCLUSIVE INVENTION throughout.” Contemporary marginal marks, else good. The copy reads as if Jarrett wrote it himself, at least in part, despite the misspelling of his name. The final sentences reads, “Guy is a great man for the professional to meet and talk with – but Amateurs; he really hasn’t any Vest Pocket tricks! And he wouldn’t do them for a thousand dollars if he had!!!”.
