Levassor, Louis. Four Real-Photo Postcards of the Levassor Magic Collection. Circa 1920. An array of antique magic apparatus, and the stage in Levassor’s home in Covington, Kentucky, fill the four cards. Props represented include escape stocks, ball vases, Morison Pill boxes, and much more. Divided backs. A few marks to rectos, but very good overall. Levassor, an accomplished organist whose 21-room mansion was known as Levassor Place, was well-known to magicians. His home with its miniature theatre, including seating for approximately 50, was a favorite venue of Cincinnati magicians. He assembled a sizeable library of books on magic, and was one of the first men to actively collect conjuring apparatus.
