Over 2000 paper items, comprising a lifetime accumulation of magic memorabilia owned and kept by clown, illusionist, publisher, magic collector, and dealer Phil Temple, best-remembered for his publications on Dante, Kellar, and Thurston. Contents of the archive include autographed photos, original correspondence (typed and holographic), business records and receipts, original candid photographs, studio headshots, brochures and publicity documents, Christmas cards, and many other printed items related to the magicians who interacted with Temple over a 40+ year span. Among the subjects are Channing Pollock, Lee Grabel, Lance Burton, Moi-Yo Miller and her husband Arturo Montes (a large quantity), Robert Olson, Robert Albo (a quantity), David Copperfield, Byron Walker, Tony Clark, Robert Lund, Andre and Tim Kole (a large quantity), Marvyn and Carol Roy (a large quantity), Jane Thurston, and dozens more. Many files include hundreds of items related to a single individual. Subjects treated include magic history and collecting, and the dealing in and trading of vintage magic memorabilia; Temple’s magic symposiums; Temple’s publications; magic shows, and much more. Neatly organized in five plastic file boxes filled with hanging folders.
