Two volumes in one, second edition, half calf over marbles boards ruled in blind, 6 compartments double filleted in gilt with 2 morocco spine labels titled in gilt, raised bands, a.e.m. 8vo. [v], vi-xv, [3], 428; [iii], iv, [3], 344. Illustrated with colored aquatint frontispieces, 3 large folding maps, 4 engraved plates. Light splitting to spine near head, boards gently rubbed, foxing to maps with offsetting, discreet blind stamps to few maps and leaves, bookplate. Regarded as the better of the editions as the first edition only included two maps, no plates, and only 564 pp.
