Rising Card Chest. Prague: Hranky [?] Juza, ca. 1920. Chosen cards rise from the pack inside the handsome wooden box, pushing up on the lid to open it as they eerily move about. Top and bottom doors can be opened to give a clear view through the box. 5 ¼ x 4 ¾ x 5 ½”. Exceptionally finely made with inlaid hardwoods, and hand-carved and painted ball feet. A companion to the previous lot.
