Kepplinger Style Holdout. American, ca. 1960. Device concealed on the card-sharp’s person used to secretly add or remove cards from the player’s hand. Toe action design. Made and used by a crossroader named Goldie Johnson. Purchased by the consignor in 1969 from a dice maker Tom Webster based in the Watts neighborhood of Los Angeles. With a wooden and glass display case.
