Handsomely bound in a full crushed teal Levant by Riviere and Son with an intricate leather inlay of the two main lovers from the poem ‘The Gift’ in white, turquoise, apricot, French rose, and sangria morocco, framed inside a double gilt rule with gilt devices at each corner of covers, raised bands with gilt filet, compartments with gilt fleuron centerpieces and framed in gilt, gilt lettering in two compartments and remainder, broad turn-ins with gilt cornerpieces and filets, peacock illustrated pastedowns and free endpapers, a.e.g. Illustrated with brightly colored plates + numerous head and tailpieces in full color by John Austen. 8vo. Expertly refurbished front outer joint, spine moderately sunned; else tight and clean. An attractive copy.
