Inscribed and signed by the author to Ivan Dimitri who Fiske refers to as “candidly the best candid artist in the photographic world…” signed and dated (July 19, 1937) by Fiske at Fort Yates, North Dakota. Ivan Dimitri was an American photographic artist best known for creating the first color photographic cover on the Saturday Evening Post magazine the same year this inscription was written. Also with a pencil signature to bastard title of “Francine,” Fiske’s daughter. Publisher’s red cloth with a pastedown along the side edge of front board featuring an image of a tipi, front cover titled in gilt. Photographic frontispiece and several black and white photographic plates. 8vo. Spine darkened, front interior hinge starting; bold inscription.
