The most desirable of the pre-Civil War issues featuring for the first time on its cover- Abraham Lincoln. He was mostly unknown up until this point in politics, with the newspaper even misspelling his name in the caption: “Hon. Abram Lincoln, of Illinois, Republican Candidate For President.”
