Two volumes, complete. First edition thus, first printing. Limited to 870 copies, this being 665. Modern quarter polished calf over brown cloth, spine in six compartments separated by raised bands, gilt lettering in two compartments, elaborate gilt center and cornerpieces in each compartment, t.e.g. Illustrated with color frontispiece, for woodcuts, and twenty etched and aquatint illustrations from contemporary sources by Joseph Grego. Each illustration is presented in two states, an original and a hand-colored aquatint. 4to. Pale foxing and offsetting to frontispieces; else fine.
