Deluxe edition limited to 250 copies, this being No. 113 and signed by the Earl of Derby, Edward Stanley. Original half blue morocco over white pastepaper, front board embossed with gilt and currant red, 3 raised bands with gilt filet, initials of King George VI gilt stamped in compartment. Displays numerous colored silk ribbons depicting the colors of the Union Flag, coronation ceremony robes, noble orders of knighthood, British Navy, Army, Airforce, and the heraldry colors of Britain with accompanying text describing the history behind the use of these colors. Included with a tipped-in letter on Buckingham Palace letterhead describing the plans for standardizing colors throughout the textile industry. 4to. Boards faintly soiled or toned; a very attractive copy.
