Includes a set of 8 color aquatint etchings (2 printed in black and white) on cream wove paper (Magnani), full margins, each signed and numbered in pencil by the artist, loose in original clamshell portfolio with limitation page and half-title as issued. 550 x 470 mm; 22 x 18 ½” (sheets). Fine. This edition of 20 numbered sets has never before been offered at auction; the etchings are usually seen being sold individually. Rare. This portfolio of eight etchings was created exclusively for the classic novella ‘Heart of Darkness’ by Joseph Conrad. Scully is one of the world’s most renowned artists and his works are in the permanent collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art.
