Chung Ling Soo (William Ellsworth Robinson). Chung Ling Soo Theatrical Contract, Signed and Annotated. Dated August 5, 1905, for the faux Chinese magician’s appearance at the Theatre Royal and Grand, Bolton the following year. Soo will receive a sliding percentage of the profits from ticket sales. Signed in ink, “Chung Ling Soo.” Chipping at extremities, else good. Rare. Marginal notes indicate that Soo will hire and pay the other artists on the bill (as opposed to the theatre proprietor), and specifies the salary each act will receive.
