The “female Houdini” appears second on an 11-act bill at the King’s Theatre, Edinburgh, presenting her “death defying water escape,” and straight jacket escape. Scarce. Minerva was an accomplished escape artist and one of but a few women who traded on Houdini’s success as a handcuff and prison breaker. For a short period of time she was married to the enigmatic illusion designer Guy Jarrett.
