Houdini, Harry (Ehrich Weisz). Houdini TLS on Pictorial Brochure. Dated July 2, 1905, Houdini writes from Scotland to the son of Henry Evanion, the conjurer and magic collector from whom he purchased many rarities. Houdini comments, “Regarding what I have done to my poor old friend Henry E. Evanion, I wish no thanks, and assure you that I for one am very sorry to think that he passed away in suffering and in want.” He goes on to say, “Strange world this we live in, and it takes all kinds of people to make a world.” Signed “Harry Houdini” and bearing two notes to the text, likely in Houdini’s hand. Filling a portion of a pictorial German language brochure describing Houdini’s feats and triumphs. 4to. Central fold reinforced, edges chipped, one split.
