Johnny Thompson’s Pump Deck. Specially prepared pack of cards allows for the performance of a direct and baffling card trick: four or five spectators each think of a card as the fanned deck is held before them. Without manipulation or sleight-of-hand, Thompson then discerned the name of each thought-of card. Made with modern Steamboat cards, in a well-worn case from professional use by Johnny Thompson. Under the right circumstances, the effect approached real magic, as if Thompson could simply read the mind of each participant.
