Vernon, Dai. Scrapbook of Dai Vernon’s 1976 Grand Island Lecture. Comb-bound folio album of snapshots and ephemera from before and during Vernon’s April 26, 1976 lecture in Grand Island, New York. Mounted on stiff black leaves. Comprising: 38 color and black and white snapshots, one photo-copied letter, and a 1976 Holiday Inn lecture flyer and ticket/badge. Image sizes 3 ½ x 4 ½” or 3 ½ x 5”. Covers creased and torn, first leaf trimmed. Some of the snapshots are candid images of Vernon performing magic, including Symphony of the Rings, Cups and Balls, Salt Trick, and Mora’s Balls and Net Routine. In others, he is seen with friends and fellow magicians such as Sid Lorraine, Ross Bertram, Joe Cossari, Howard Lyons, Gene Gordon, Eddie Fechter, Karl Norman, and Bruce Posgate.
