Robert Harbin’s Zig Zag Illusion. 1980s. The magician’s assistant enters a tall upright cabinet, and two blades are pushed through her midsection, clearly extending through the cabinet. Then, the center section of the box is pushed to one side, “zig-zagging” the assistant into three pieces, though her head, hand, foot, and a portion of her midsection can be seen during the performance, through windows in the cabinet. The process is reversed and the blades are reversed, yet the assistant emerges unharmed. Wooden cabinet with metal blades which breaks apart for packing. Assembled height 74”. One of the most popular stage illusions of the twentieth century. Complete and working.
