Albumen print on original studio mount depicting Crow Eagle, William Frederick “Buffalo Bill” Cody, Hunkpapa Sioux Chief Sitting Bull, and William Halsey (Sitting Bull’s interpreter). A cropped version of a portrait that originally showed two additional subjects including Adirondack (a naturalist) and a young Johnny Baker (later known as the “Cowboy Kid” in the Wild West Show and foster son to Cody). 4 ¼ x 6 ½”. Slight crease to upper right corner of image, marginal loss to lower right corner of mount with faint marring to image corner, even toning or dust soiling to edges of mount and verso. Scarce.
