Dave the Guesser (Dave Glovsky) [1909-1997]. Dave the Guesser Memorabilia Boards. Seven wooden and Masonite display boards assembled by Glovsky, the legendary “guesser” at Palace Playland at Old Orchard Beach, Maine for over 50 years (1943-1997). Clippings and black and white photos of many entertainers and notable people Glovsky guessed for tacked to the boards, including Duke Ellington, Louis Armstrong, Dion, Bobby Vinton, Gene Pitney, The Animals, Peter, Paul and Mary, Abbe Lane, and others. Size of largest 37 x 24”. Handwritten dates and notations, 1940s-80s. Severely weathered with stains, tears, and other losses, but still charming pieces of folk art.
