Rebound in modern cloth stamped in gilt (marginal browning or foxing throughout). Provenance: early pencil inscription to title “Presented to R.H. Leavitt at Cincinnati by Loomis of Oxford, Ohio”. A scarce title. Howes H-476. Many copies of this first edition were destroyed in a fire with no apparent copies of the second edition surviving.
