Second printing from the original plate prepared for the first printing of the History of the Expedition under the command of Captains Lewis and Clark, 1814. In June–July 1979, 160 impressions of the original plate were taken, this being number 7 of 150 copies (penciled in lower right margin). Plate area, 12 ¾ x 28 ½”. Museum quality framed, 21 x 37”. A FINE IMPRESSION. Howes L317 “dd”. Referred to as the “second printing” of the single most important printed map of the West in American History.
