[CIVIL WAR] Four Early Photographs of Civil War Union Soldiers. Circa 1860s. Includes four ambrotype or tintype photographs, each bearing a half-length image of a Union soldier dressed in full uniform. One is inscribed on the verso “To Mrs. Nancey Thomas, Gibbons Glade, Pa.” and signed “Eph. Pierce, Md.” who was a private with the Union army. Each is housed in original embossed leather cases; three missing front cover. One is framed in a patriotic border titled “Constitution and Union” with embossed images of the American flag, the U.S.S. Constitution, and cannon. Largest case, 3 ¾ x 3 ¼”. Edgewear to images, cases worn.
