[CONVEYANCING] The Compleat Clerk, Containing the Best Forms of All Sorts of Presidents, for Conveyances and Assurances; And Other Instruments Now in Use and Practice… London: Printed by W. Rawlings, S. Roycroft, and H. Sawbridge, 1683. 4to. Fifth and final edition. Main title preceded by copperplate pictorial title (few small tears to lower margin) with the title (adapted from first edition): The Conveyancers Light of Exact Presidents for all Manner of Instruments and Conveyances. Woodcut headpieces and initials. Period full calf single paneled, raised bands, crimson morocco spine label lettered and framed in gilt (spine ends rubbed with losses, hinges tender, preliminary and terminal blanks with several voids and contemporary notations, title with previous ownership signatures, contents browned). In all editions “To the Reader” is signed “J.H.” This has led some bibliographers to speculate that the author was related to Sir Richard Hutton, whose works include The Young Clerks Guide (1653).
