Photogravure frontispiece by Otto Schneider, title page framed in elaborate foliage border, decorated initials. Contemporary three-quarter blue crushed Levant over marbled boards bound by Roycroft Press, raised bands, compartments elaborately tooled and titled in gilt, marbled endpapers, top edge gilt (light toning to marbling). An attractive binding. "This book presents Hugo's account of Napoleon's defeat at Waterloo, originally written as a part of his epic novel, Les Misérables.
