Period half brown buckram over tan cloth boards, three black morocco spine labels (chipped) titled and ruled in gilt (mild finger smudging to covers, occasional dampstaining to upper margins of Vol. I and III, architect bookseller tickets to upper corner of front pastedown of J.C. Jansen, Cleveland); generally clean interior. [Together with:] A Monograph of the Work of McKim Mead & White 1879–1915 (New York: Benjamin Blom, 1973; new edition). The single most important record of the achievements of the firm McKim, Mead and White, which played a major role in the development of the classical revival in American architecture. Majority of the buildings and projects documented were located in New York City, most notably Madison Square Garden, New York University, Columbia University, Library of J. Pierpont Morgan, Tiffany and Co., and Metropolitan Museum of Art. Others include the University of Illinois and the Boston Public Library. No other firm of such prominence and stature has contributed to the architectural landscape as McKim, Mead and White did in just the span of 36-years.
