Including an original pencil and wash drawing from life (11 x 8 ½”) of the communist leader, Valerian Kuybyshev, SIGNED in his hand (published in the December 3, 1922 New York Times Magazine as a portrait of “Kuybishoff”); an original graphite drawing from life (13 ½ x 10”) of the Italian patriot, General Giuseppe “Peppino” Garibaldi, SIGNED in his hand (published in the July 19, 1925 New York Times Magazine) and with several publishing notations; and a drypoint etching (13 x 9”) of Benito Mussolini with penciling near margins (Cesare met Mussolini and sketched from life).
