FIRST EDITION. 175 illustrations, full-page photogravures and typogravures reproducing the paintings and watercolors of famed artists such as Childe Hassam, Winslow Homer, and Ridgeway Knight (offsetting to guards from plates). Contemporary full pebbled calf ruled in blind, beveled boards, large raised bands with gilt rolls, compartments decorated and titled in gilt, dentelle turn-ins, pictorial endpapers, all edges gilt (boards rubbed, weak front hinge to volume I with separation (bands held firm), spine ends chipped); illustrations clean.
