INSCRIBED BY YOSHIDA on title page: “To Dr. Kaplan” and SIGNED by the author, both in English and Japanese. Illustrated with 20 plates containing 11 woodblock prints, some in different states of technique, printed with 11 kinds of block and 12 kinds of Japanese papers, employing traditional and modern techniques. Publisher’s handmade decorative paper over boards with paper title label to front cover, purple silk cord tie (sunned), housed in original cardboard slipcase with paper label; a fine example of Japanese woodblock printmaking. Only volume one was printed.
