Second edition expanded from Genthe’s 1908 classic volume of photographs of San Francisco’s Chinatown as it was before the 1906 earthquake. Text by Will Irwin. Illustrated with halftone photographs by Genthe. Publisher’s black cloth stamped in gilt and red, original dust jacket (chipping to edges of jacket and with few pale stains). Provenance: bookplate of Anna Reginalda Bolan, former head of The Field Museum’s roentgenology division between 1926 and 1932. A BRIGHT COPY IN A RARE DUST JACKET.
