South Vietnamese Air Force Signed Photo Album Prepared for a U.S. General. Pacific Air Forces Information Team, April–May 1967. Original comb bound heavy silver card stock, pictorially stamped and titled to upper cover. 63 large black & white glossy snapshots on heavy cardstock of the South Vietnamese Air Force featuring several signed photos including military chief Nguyen Cao Ky and several lieutenant colonels, plus numerous action shots of the air force base. The album was prepared for General Foster L. Smith of the U.S. Air Force (last name and rank stamped to upper cover). Printed on the inside upper cover: “Born under combat conditions; reared in the face of battle; the Vietnamese Air Force has today matured into a highly effective combat strike force. To the fighter pilots, liaison pilots, transport pilots, and helicopter pilots, their crews and all the VNAF men and women who support their efforts, this album is humbly dedicated.” Small 4to. Few small losses to comb binding. RARE. A unique look into the neglected chapter of the history of the Vietnam War as the South Vietnam Air Force operated in the shadow of the USAF from 1955 to 1975.
