CURTISS, Glenn H. (1878-1930). Four Glenn H. Curtiss signed Photos (possible Henry Woodhouse forgeries). 1916, NY and Pa. Four photos associated with pioneering aviator Victor Carlstrom’s attempted non-stop flight from Chicago to NY, for the New York Times on November 2-3, 1916. Flying a 200 hp Curtiss biplane, Carlstrom established a cross country record at the time and was the first man to carry 1000 pieces of mail by air, the first man to do so. Two of the photos are signed by A. S. Burleson, postmaster general and G. H. Curtiss, the aviation pioneer, whose plane was used in this flight. A third image is additionally signed by Lt. Genl. Leonard Wood. The photos were taken upon the arrival of Lindstrom at Governor’s Island, NY. With clipping from the New York Times regarding flight. Ex Henry Woodhouse collection, noted American aviation pioneering author and forger. Signature(s) likely in Woodhouse’s hand. Good.
