Early U.S. Airmail Development Documentary Archive. 1912-13. 30 TLS regarding Congressional approval of bill to allow mail to be carried by airplanes. Henry Woodhouse was an early proponent of the early commercial use of airplanes, and particularly of the practicality and benefit of having the U.S. postal service use airplanes to carry the mail. This archive contains approximately 20 letters from U.S. Representatives, in addition to Senators, Assistant Postmaster General, and others. Includes an original copy of the House of Representatives Report on “Transportation of Mail by Aeroplanes.” Very good.
