Nixon, W.J. Nixon’s Own Stack of Bowls Instructions and Diagrams. Three pages of Hotel Phillips stationery, two filled with typed directions and the third illustrated, all by “Doc” Nixon, explaining the working and gimmicks behind his method for producing a stack of graduated fishbowls filled with water from a clutch of silk scarves. He explains, “Harry Houdini purchased three sets from Lowry [sic] – and exchanged one set to Jack Gwynne for various items of magic… .” With Nixon’s typed signature at the end of the second page, and the indication that this manuscript may have been typed for publication after the release of his famous Nixon Manuscript. Sold together with a well-executed drawing of the apparatus by noted magic illustrator Bill Hanna, signed by the artist. 8vos and smaller. Very good condition.The bowl production was a signature feat in Gwynne’s repertoire.
