Thurston, Howard. Comedic Snapshot of Thurston and Alvin Plough. Dayton, 1934. Snapshot of the great American stage illusionist, dressed in white tie and tails as if ready to perform, and with a funny grimace on his face, standing arm in arm with Alvin R. Plough. Caption to verso reads, “Colonial Theater, Dayton Ohio, March 1934.” 3 5/8 x 4 5/8”. Inscribed and signed by Plough to “the Mayor of Avondale.” Lower right corner torn away, soiling, folds. Sold as-is.Plough, a press and public relations agent by trade, was widely known to magicians as executive editor of the Linking Ring. He served in that capacity from 1948 until his death in 1965. Thurston, a close friend, also used Plough’s services to write press releases and for public relations matters.
