Lafayette (Sigmund Neuberger). The Great Lafayette Autograph Letter. [London], ca. 1910. On two sheets of Lafayette’s embossed notepaper with the rubber-stamped address of Lafayette’s home at 55 Tavistock Square, and addressed to a Sir (likely theater manager J.F. Elliston) relating to upcoming performances. It reads, in part, “I don’t know if I have a date with you…if I do when it is – it’s immaterial to me but I would like to know. … I am in the dark.” Boldly signed in ink, “Very truly yours, The Great Lafayette.” Each sheet 7 ¼ x 5 ½”. Mailing folds, pinholes.
