Publisher’s parchment backed boards, original printed spine label (spine a bit sunned); custom cloth clamshell box. STEPHEN GOODEN’S COPY PRESENTED TO HIM BY THE AUTHOR with the inscription: “This copy of ‘The Brook Kerith’ was given [to] me by George Moore so as to have a copy to read while I was illustrating it. Stephen Gooden”. Gooden is most recognized for his work during the early years of the Nonesuch Press and his engravings of pictorial bookplates for Queen Elizabeth II and the Royal Library at Windsor Castle.
