Panoramic bird’s-eye view of the rebuilt area of Chicago about a year after the Great Chicago Fire, as seen from the top of the Gardner House at the corner of Michigan Avenue and Jackson Street, and spanning “the South Division, from the River on the North to Harrison Street on the South, and portions of the North and West Divisions.” (Light offsetting; some clean separation along folds). Folded and enclosed with the November 1872 issue of the Lakeside Monthly, a copy of which is included (8vo, original pale pink wrappers, with an engraved frontispiece, illustrations, and article on the rebuilding of the city).
